Because it costs nothing to serve. Every run happens in your browser: the server sends one JSON file of the world state and then does nothing. Charging for compute that never happened would be dishonest.

The baseline is estimated for the current base year, and an administrator can refresh sixteen indicators per country from the World Bank at any time. Every field carries a mark saying which it is.
Sourced values can be refreshed or cleared from the admin screen, and overrides live in their own table. Institution plans include help doing that at team scale.
